How to Embed into a website

Embedding a tour into a website is a great way to encourage people to stay longer, and learn more about what our district has to offer.

Virtual Waitaki offers two options for getting the code needed to embed the website.

Option 1 – the current start scene and view will be used, the same as is displayed on each locations webpsge, or –

option 2 – choosing your own start parameters, the start scene and direction you wish your visitors to see. This is a great way to describe the attractions or details you wish to draw to their attention.

Option 1

Step 1. Choose your tour

Step 2. Below each tour is the code needed to embed the website, click on the tab at the right to copy the code to your clipboard.

Step 3. Paste into your webpage, the tour will show when you view the page in a browser.

Option 2

Step 1. Choose your tour

Step 2. Navigate to the scene you wish to start on and move to the view/zoom level you wish to display.

Step 3. Click on the share icon on the control panel and copy the code that is displayed below the social media icons.

Step 4. Paste the code into your webpage, the tour will show when you view the page in a browser.

Some website templates might not allow the proper embedding of the tours without some extra coding.

On the right here is an example of some more advanced embedding options. Check with your website developer to see if this is a suitable workaround.

Simply change the URL to point to the tour you wish to embed.
